Accessibility audit
Who it’s for
Online shops and websites where consumers enter into a contract online: buying products, booking and paying for a room, ordering a service. Across the EU, the European Accessibility Act has applied to these services since 28 June 2025; in Ireland it is implemented by S.I. No. 636 of 2023. Microenterprises providing services are exempt. The UK isn’t covered by the EAA, but the Equality Act 2010 still applies to businesses serving the public, and an accessible checkout simply means more people can buy from you. None of this is legal advice; whether a particular law covers you is a question for your adviser.
What we do
We don’t start by scanning every page. We start with what a customer has to do. In a shop: search, choose a variant, open the basket, enter details, pay, receive confirmation. On a hotel site: pick dates, choose a room, pay. Plus the templates that repeat across the site, such as product, category and contact pages.
An automated scan is only a first pass. These tools catch a fraction of real barriers, so the core of the audit is manual: completing each journey by keyboard only, with a screen reader, at high zoom and in high-contrast mode. We test against WCAG 2.2 at level AA: contrast, focus order, form labels, error messages, alternative text, heading structure, dialogs, timeouts.
The report is written for the people who will fix things. Each issue comes with a screenshot, the WCAG criterion, the impact on a real user and a specific fix. Priorities put anything that blocks a purchase or booking first.
Then we fix the problems: theme, templates, forms and checkout components. We also draft an accessibility statement describing how your service meets the requirements, for you and your adviser to approve. Finally, we retest the same journeys.
How we work
- Send us the site address and key journeys, and you’ll get a quote within 24 hours.
- A contract with a fixed price and staged payments.
- Audit and prioritised report.
- Fixes and draft accessibility statement.
- Retest, content guidance and 30 days of free fixes.
Typically 10–20 working days including fixes. It takes longer when the problems sit inside a third-party payment or booking widget we can’t change directly.
What we need from you
Access to a staging copy of the site, a test account, the ability to place test orders, and a contact at any third-party provider whose components turn out to cause issues.
Technology and integrations
We audit sites on any platform, for example Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom build. On hosted platforms, some fixes go into the theme and some need raising with the vendor. Embedded components such as payment pages or booking widgets are tested with everything else, and we spell out which issues depend on their provider.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell overlays or accessibility widgets.
- We don’t issue certificates or guarantee legal compliance.
- We don’t give legal advice.
- We don’t hand over an automated scan and call it an audit.
Free quote within 24 hours

Questions we hear most often
Can't find your question? Write or call — we'll give you a straight answer, no strings attached.
[email protected]+48 889 009 55001We're a UK business. Does the European Accessibility Act apply to us?
The EAA is EU law and doesn't apply in the UK as such. If you sell to consumers in EU countries, it may be relevant to that part of your business. In the UK the Equality Act 2010 is the reference point. Ask your legal adviser how either applies to you.
02Will an accessibility overlay do the job?
No. Overlays sit on top of the page without fixing the underlying code, and they can get in the way of the assistive technology disabled people already use. We fix the site itself.
03Can you certify that our site is compliant?
We don't issue compliance certificates or legal opinions. You get the report, a log of fixes and the retest results, which document the work you've done.
04Which WCAG version do you test against?
WCAG 2.2 at level AA. It builds on WCAG 2.1, so the earlier criteria are covered too, and the report notes which version each issue comes from.
