Gdańsk: a city of foreign employers and software firms
Gdańsk had 1,794 commercial companies with foreign capital at the end of 2025. That is almost half of the 3,792 in the whole Pomorskie region. The city also has 8,943 entities registered in computer programming and IT consultancy, the largest such cluster of any northern Polish city we cover.
The REGON register grew from 100,325 to 104,088 entities in one year. Almost 70,000 students at 12 universities feed this talent pool, which is why recruitment is a constant theme in conversations with firms here.
The city’s own agency, InvestGDA, has supported investors and entrepreneurs since 2008. If you are setting up in Gdańsk, they are worth talking to about locations and local contacts.
Gdańsk is also the region’s hotel capital. In 2025 its tourist accommodation hosted 1.68 million guests, and 38.4% of them came from abroad. Bed occupancy reached 53.0% over the year, well above the national 40.2%.

Local specifics in Gdańsk
- Who your guests are. Germany (15.3%), Norway (11.5%), the UK (11.2%), Sweden (9.6%) and the Netherlands (7.7%) were the main sources of foreign guests in 2025. A Polish-English site misses part of this market.
- Hotel websites are the norm. 60 of the 64 categorised hotels in the national CWOH register list a website. The question isn’t whether to have one but whether it takes direct bookings.
- Short-term rentals. The Sejm passed a bill on short-term rental and hotel services on 8 October 2026 (print no. 2865). It is now with the Senate, so check the final wording before changing your listings.
- AI Act. From 2 August 2026, chatbots must tell users they are talking to AI. Ours do this by default.

Yes. Gdańsk is about 11 km from Sopot, where MEZA is registered, so a kick-off meeting at your office or a meeting in town is easy to arrange. Day-to-day work runs over video and shared documents.

Yes. A careers page in Polish and English with clear role descriptions, an application form connected to your ATS or CRM, and campaigns aimed at students and experienced specialists. We work within your employer brand guidelines.
03Our Polish entity has to use KSeF. Can you help without touching our ERP?
Often, yes. We connect the systems around it, such as a shop, CRM or order system, to invoicing software that sends invoices to KSeF and passes cost invoices to your accounting team. Tax questions stay with your accountant.
04We run a hotel with many Nordic guests. Is English enough on the website?
