Websites, marketing and AI for UK businesses
What’s changing for UK small firms
Two things are putting pressure on small businesses in the UK right now: paperwork going digital, and staff who are hard to find.
The paperwork side has a clear timetable. Making Tax Digital for Income Tax has applied since 6 April 2026 to sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000. From April 2027 the threshold drops to £30,000, and HMRC expects around 1.08 million more people to be brought in. In April 2028 it drops again, to £20,000. Many of them keep their records in a notebook or a spreadsheet today.
Staffing is the other half. In the ONS figures for June to August 2026, hotels, restaurants and cafés had a vacancy rate of 2.8%, joint second-highest of any industry. When the front desk or the phone is short-staffed, enquiries go unanswered and bookings move to a platform that charges commission.
Further out, the government plans mandatory e-invoicing for all VAT invoices from 2029, with a roadmap due at Budget 2026. Nothing to do yet, but worth keeping in mind when you choose software now.
How we work with UK clients
MEZA P.S.A. is a company registered in Sopot, Poland. The team works remotely, on CET/CEST, which is one hour ahead of London. We have no office in the UK, and you won’t find a fake London address on our site.
In practice that means:
- video calls at times that suit UK working hours;
- one shared document with scope, timeline and price, so nothing depends on memory;
- a free concept before you sign anything: a mockup of 1–2 screens or a chatbot script with sample answers;
- a contract and a VAT invoice, with staged payments and 30 days of fixes after launch;
- the domain and all logins registered to you, not to us, and the project code yours once paid for.
We speak Polish, English, Ukrainian and Russian. In German we reply in writing. Where we process personal data on your behalf, for example in a booking form or a chatbot, we sign a data processing agreement under Article 28 of the UK GDPR.
What UK businesses ask us for
Websites that bring in enquiries. Mobile-first sites for tradespeople, clinics and salons, with a quote or booking form that reaches you straight away. No long tie-in contract.
Direct booking for hotels and B&Bs. A booking button that sits next to the OTAs rather than replacing them, plus Google Business Profile set up properly so guests find your own site first.
An AI receptionist for calls and messages. It answers routine questions after hours, takes booking requests and passes anything unusual to your team. It always says it’s an AI assistant.
MTD-ready record keeping. We set up and connect HMRC-recognised software, link it to your bank feed, shop or booking system, and automate what you currently copy by hand. We work alongside your accountant and don’t give tax advice.
Hosting and housekeeping. Managed hosting in the EU, backups, updates and monitoring, for sites that have been left alone for too long.
AI training for teams. Live online sessions on your own processes, so staff use AI tools safely and know where the limits are.
Rules worth knowing in the UK
- Cookies. Since 5 February 2026, the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 lets you use some first-party analytics and site-appearance cookies without prior consent, as long as visitors get clear information and an easy way to say no. The ICO is still updating its guidance, so we set banners up conservatively and review them when the guidance changes.
- Reviews. Fake reviews are banned under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act; the CMA has published guidance (CMA208). We don’t write reviews or filter which customers are asked for one.
- Accessibility. The European Accessibility Act doesn’t apply in the UK. The Equality Act 2010 still expects reasonable adjustments, and if you sell to customers in the EU, EU rules may apply to you. We build to WCAG either way.
- Short lets. A registration scheme for short-term lets in England is on the way. Legal commentary published in October 2026 expects it to start in March 2027; there’s no portal or fee yet. We keep booking sites easy to update when a registration number has to be shown.
- AI disclosure. The EU AI Act requires chatbots to say they’re AI from 2 August 2026. UK firms serving EU customers may be caught by it, and we build the disclosure in for everyone.

Where we usually start
Questions we hear most often
Can't find your question? Write or call — we'll give you a straight answer, no strings attached.
[email protected]+48 889 009 55001You're based in Poland. Will that make working together harder?
Not in practice. We're one hour ahead of the UK, everything is agreed in writing, and you follow progress on a shared test version rather than in meetings. We don't have a UK office and won't pretend to.
02Can you do my Making Tax Digital returns?
No. We're not accountants and don't give tax advice. We set up and connect HMRC-recognised software, move your records out of messy spreadsheets and automate the data flow, so you or your accountant can file the quarterly updates.
03Do you add VAT to your invoices?
For business customers our invoices normally follow reverse-charge rules, as we supply services from the EU. Your accountant confirms how to treat them in your VAT return.
04Will the AI receptionist pretend to be a person?
No. It says it's an AI assistant at the start of every conversation and hands over to your team when a question needs a human. That's what EU AI rules require, and it's good practice in the UK too.
05How much does a website cost?
We don't publish a price list. You get a free quote within 24 hours, including weekends and public holidays. Once you accept it, the price is fixed and you pay in stages.
