Untainted — Privacy Policy

Short version: Untainted works entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data. Period.

1. Introduction

Untainted ("the App") is a macOS utility developed by MEZA Agency ("we", "us", "our") that helps developers analyze and clean up disk space used by AI tools, package managers, build artifacts, and development infrastructure.

We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data the App does — and does not — access.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

Personal information (name, email, phone number)
File contents or file names
Browsing or usage history
Analytics or telemetry data
Device identifiers or IP addresses
Crash reports sent to our servers

3. Data Accessed Locally

To function, the App accesses the following data only on your device, never transmitted externally:

File system metadata — file sizes, paths, and modification dates are read to calculate disk usage and identify cleanup candidates.
Disk volume information — total and available space on mounted volumes.
User preferences — scan settings, notification thresholds, and onboarding state stored via macOS UserDefaults.
Deletion history — records of cleaned items are stored locally so you can review past actions.

All locally stored data (preferences and deletion history) can be removed by uninstalling the app or resetting its data through macOS settings.

4. File Access

Untainted accesses only folders you explicitly select. All scanning is performed locally on your device.

5. In-App Purchases

Untainted Pro features are available via Apple's StoreKit framework. All purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store any payment information, Apple ID details, or transaction identifiers on our servers.

6. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash reporting services. The App does not make network requests except those initiated by Apple's own frameworks (StoreKit for purchase validation, WidgetKit for widget updates).

7. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any user data to third parties. There is no data to share — everything stays on your Mac.

8. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected, no special provisions are necessary.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
